A postpartum doula is a person who works with mothers and families, to help them more fully enjoy their new baby. The postpartum doula provides non-medical support and helps to create a nurturing environment for the mother, father, and baby during these exciting and challenging times. The role of the doula is not to assume primary responsibility for the newborn, but to assist the mother and her partner in their new role as parents so they can more easily bond with and take care of their baby. A postpartum doula assists in the home after the birth of a baby. By having someone with knowledge and know-how in the home you are able to comfortably ease back into your home life. As a postpartum doula, I am equipped to tend to your recovery needs and to your family needs. Whether I am helping with you, your baby, other children, household chores, or any other need, I am there for you to ease the pressure and give you time to rest and recover. |
