Tending to You and Your Needs on This Journey of Birth
No Obligation Consultation
In Home SupportA woman in the “4th trimester” or “postpartum recovery stage” still needs support, often more than ever. My job is to meet your needs during this time. I do this by helping you and your family to adjust to life with a newborn. Some of the things that I can do to make your life easier are: watch the baby while you get some rest or a shower, bathe the baby, help with breastfeeding positioning and problems, help around the house, assist with other siblings, field visitors and phone calls, and any other immediate needs that you may have in the home. I also provide you with comfort measures for your recovering body and with emotional support. I bring with me a variety of resources and knowledge in postpartum and newborn care. Each woman and family is unique and has different needs and I work to ensure that those needs are met as I instill confidence and rest in the home. Phone & Email Support
Resource LendingI provide a wide variety of resources such as books, CDs and DVDs on subjects such as: caring for your newborn, interpreting a baby’s cries, caring for your postpartum body, nursing, sleeping and parenting. I also have a baby activity resource with weekly exercises, games and suggestions for babies up to 24 weeks old. Hours and FeesI charge an hourly rate for postpartum services of $20 an hour during the day and $25 an hour during the night. I work a minimum of 3 hours and a maximum of 10 hours at a time. When I meet with you, we will discuss a schedule that will coordinate well with your household and mine. Then we customize a plan to fit your needs. I believe that the recovering woman deserves a postpartum doula to help nurture her family. |

This is a chance for you to decide if I am the right person to have into your home as you begin your life with your newborn. During this visit, you may want to discuss your specific postpartum needs and review my experience and recommendations. If you decide that you would like to hire me to tend to you during this transitional time period, we will work out a postpartum schedule that suits your needs.
If you feel like you need someone to talk to or are in need of some suggestions, you are welcome to contact me via phone or email. Some people need ideas to overcome discomforts, depression, nursing or newborn problems and some people just want to chat about concerns or want to know if something is normal. I am available for all of these things and more as your journey through childbirth continues with recovery and parenting.
